Online Il Nuovo Goat is not a match against another player. It is a career contest: create a lobby, everyone builds and runs their own footballer in parallel, and at the end you see whose career was greatest under the criterion chosen at the start. It works well for a group because nobody waits for anyone else’s turn.

How to create a lobby

From the main menu choose Online, set your lobby name and create the room. You get a code and invite link to share. Keep the lobby private (code or link only) or make it public so it appears in the open lobby list.

Pick a win criterion

Before you start, decide how you win — it completely changes how people play:

• GOAT score — the full career verdict. Most balanced; not one single stat.
• Most trophies — pushes everyone toward winning sides, even with fewer minutes.
• Most goals — favours attackers and makes role choice a tactical move.
• Market value — rewards fast growth and peaking at the right time.
• Goals + value — a compromise between attacking output and market weight.

Options that change the game

In advanced settings the group can vote to ban certain clubs so nobody starts at the strongest side, and decide whether everyone may pick a starting club or leave it to the game. In lobby you also vote on mode, role and nation — a lot of the fun is that negotiation before kick-off.

During and after

Everyone plays a full career to retirement at their own pace. Along the way there are check-ins with intermediate age-band standings: knowing you are behind at mid-career changes the transfers you make later. At the end comes the lobby final table.

If you disconnect you can resume from the menu. Online play needs an account, which also syncs saves and puts you on the world board. Prefer solo? Solo modes need no registration.
